Introduction: Zhou Lin, secretary of the Party Committee of Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital, chief physician, professor, and doctoral supervisor. The State Council awards her with special allowances. She is a member of the Disease Control Expert Consultation Committee of Disease Control Bureau of National Health Commission, Leading Medical Talent of Guangdong Province, doctoral supervisor of the Medical School at Jinan University, distinguished professor of the Biophysics Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and deputy to the 13th Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress.

Zhou Lin works as the chairman of the Guangdong Antituberculosis Association and the Health Promotion Branch of China Antituberculosis Association.


Honors

Zhou Lin is an expert entitled to special perks by the State Council, the National Advanced Worker, the Advanced Worker of the National Health and Family Planning System, the “March 8 Red Flag Bearer”, the “Most Excellent Science and Technology Professional” of Guangdong Province, and the first-prize winner (ranking number one) of Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award.


Academic Achievements

Zhou Lin has been engaged in the formulation and management of tuberculosis control plan, along with network construction and scientific research of tuberculosis. She has been responsible for major national science and technology projects including “973”, “863”, “11th Five-Year Plan”, “12th Five-Year Plan” and “13th Five-Year Plan” projects, and set up the first joint research center for biology and translational medicine in the field of tuberculosis. She set up Guangdong Tuberculosis Specialist Union. She has established Guangdong Tuberculosis Scientific Research Industrial Strategic Alliance under the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, and established a shared platform of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area drug-resistant tuberculosis prevention and control. She has taken the lead in and gained approval for setting up a national tuberculosis science and technology innovation team. Notably, she has published more than 60 papers in international academic journals and national magazines such as Nature Genetics, PLOS Pathogens, and Cell Reports.
